Throughout February–and in honor of today’s International Book Giving Day — FOS is holding a children’s book drive, collecting new and/or gently-used books for children.
These books will be donated to the Reach Out and Read organization. This organization provides books to children in underserved areas. As one example, Reach Out and Read distributes books to one of Milwaukee’s 16th Street health centers to be given to children at wellness visits.
The importance of reading can never be overstated, during this month, on March 2, 2024 (Read Across America Day), or on any other day of the year.
Reading is fundamental at every age.
